Through the generosity of people like you, our platform has made a difference in the lives of local youth. Donations allow Breakthrough-Butler to provide a safe and uplifting space in Butler County through its various sports programs and camps, community events, and other programs at a small cost to participants in our city.

 

Today, many young people’s attitudes and outlooks on life are radically different from a couple decades ago. Some youth lack the support, skills, guidance, motivation, trusting adult, and resources that helps to handle current phases of life, as well as to create goals and prepare them for their future. Breakthrough-Butler is an organization committed to helping the youth of Butler, PA have a safe space to build a better version of themselves, while developing healthy relationships. Our mission also is to aide physical, mental, emotional, and social health by building a community that serves as a home away from home or as an extended family. We believe this helps establish a solid foundation to improve the adolescent years as well as the future of adulthood.

 

Over the past year, the generous support from members of the Butler community has helped our young organization get off to a fast start. This support allowed us to run various sport programs, and our inaugural summer camp for the youth; serving over 570 different youth. Our organization also offered basketball and volleyball leagues for adults in the community; allowing over 350 adults to take part in a positive atmosphere to compete and have fellowship.

 

As we approach the 2024 calendar year, we have plans to build and expand our programs. In addition to our sports programs, Breakthrough-Butler is looking to continue summer day camp and athlete’s camp that will be held in the summer months at a very affordable rate for families. We also started a school-year program that runs five days a week during the 2023 and 2024 school years. To truly give every child and family a chance to be a part of our family, we set our weekly summer camp and school-year program rate between at $30-$35 for potentially five full days.

To expand our programs comes the expenses of school supplies, food and drink items, sports and game equipment, rent fees, among other operation costs.

 

We also run community events for the children and their families! Each of these connects to our mission of providing a safe space where people can better themselves and the others they are around, while leaning valuable skills, and being able to build healthy relationships.
